SUMMARY

We are currently seeking Pharmacist for the following practice locations: Boston sites with varying full time floating schedules (Open business hours are Monday- Friday 8a-8p and Saturday/Sunday 9a-5p).

Under general supervision of the Chief Pharmacist (or pharmacy supervisor) and in accordance with Atrius Health policies and procedures, federal and state laws and regulations, and pharmacy professional standards, prepares, compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical items to patients. Responsible for all aspects of site pharmacy operations including workflow, prescription processing, inventory management, financial profitability, payroll management, and security with emphasis on ensuring Service Excellence for patients. Oversees and develops the daily activities of support personnel, maintains highest day to day pharmacy operations standards, and continuously monitors to ensure best practice behaviors within the Atrius Health environment. Performs essential responsibilities of the supervisor in their absence. Reports unusual problems and issues that require assistance to supervisor for advice and counsel. Works with supervisor to improve site pharmacy processes and business metrics that enhance patient care, integrate technology and initiatives, and align operations. Works with a great sense of urgency, provides exemplary patient service, maximizes positive patient outcomes, promotes one team culture, and demonstrates professionalism in all their interactions. Maintains quality control and documents safety reports needed to support effective and safe operations. Collaborates with pharmacy personnel, physicians, and other clinical department staff to deliver safe and optimal drug therapy. Works rotating shifts to meet patient and business needs.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of accredited school of Pharmacy; Pharm D or Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy required.
  • Must currently be a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Massachusetts with an active pharmacist license without restrictions from the MA Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must complete 20 Continuing Education (CE) credits per calendar year as required by Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy and in accordance with Pharmacy Staff License Monitoring and Maintenance of Credentials Policy.
  • Must not be listed on the Exclusion Database List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) maintained by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG).
  • Immunization certified required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

EXPERIENCE

  • Three years’ experience in high volume retail pharmacy preferred.

SKILLS

  • Must possess working knowledge of pharmacy operations and cash handling experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.
  • Must be team oriented and demonstrate excellent customer service skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and colleagues.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
