Excel Medical Center seeking a high-energy IT Technical Support Assistant to join us in our mission to provide direct clinical Adult primary care medicine to the medically underserved community in Philadelphia

We are a growing, with 14 locations in Philadelphia and a new 15th clinical location that we have just opened in Chester, PA.

We are seeking an IT Technical Support Assistant to join our team, delivering great customer service as they provide timely technical support to our employees.

This full-time position will provide technical assistance to our medical practice staff, install and configure hardware and software, and provide ongoing maintenance for their computer systems.

The successful candidate needs to leverage prior IT Technical Support experience, using their excellent customer-service skills, strong understanding of IT technology principles and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software application problems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical IT assistance to staff on hardware and software issues
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software, including Medical applications
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Set up accounts and user profiles
  • Provide system administration and maintenance
  • Respond to and diagnose technical hardware and software issues
  • Research and recommend new technologies
  • Create and maintain documentation of technical processes
  • Follow up with users to ensure their technical issues have been resolved
IT Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Min. High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Preferred technical school diploma, focused in computer technology, application support or equiv.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in office-based IT support
  • Experience providing IT Tech Assistant Support in a medical office setting is a +
  • Knowledge of hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Valid Driver's License;
    • Must be able to drive to multiple locations in Philadelphia region, primarily in N. Philadelphia to meet with our staff. We also have locations in S. Philadelphia and Chester, PA.
Medical Office Receptionist Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bilingual Spanish/English or Haitian Creole/English is a plus
  • At least one year IT customer service experience in a medical office setting, experience in medical office
  • Knowledge of EMR and insurance verification applications is a +
    • Experience with EMRs, such as Athena, EPIC, Cerner, NaviNet, PEAR, etc. is a +
  • Excellent Customer Service skills required ( patient, caring, helpful...)
  • Excellent work ethic; we need to be able to count on you
  • Multi-tasking in a very fast-paced, busy office setting
  • Professional presentation and Ability to be Flexible and adaptable
  • Great Telephone Skills and great interactive/listening skills
  • Excellent Time Management, Organizational and scheduling skills
  • Combines ability to take initiative to work on your own as an actively engaged member of the IT team.
