Kingspan Insulation is searching for an experienced Maintenance Technician to work in the Winchester, VA location. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as the business continues to expand its U.S. operations. This position is responsible for the installation, modification, repair, and preventative maintenance of plant facilities and production equipment.

Key Duties Include

Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Ensures all work is conducted safely and actively promotes a safe working environment.
  1. Independently repairs equipment and machinery without supervision.
  1. Installs new or repaired equipment.
  1. Monitors the performance of equipment.
  1. Troubleshoots, repairs, and performs changeovers on equipment independently, without supervision.
  1. Diagnose basic electrical and mechanical issues (bad contactor, bad fuse, bearing issue, etc.).
  1. Participates in special projects.
  1. Assists the process team in troubleshooting or modifying production line equipment.
  1. Conducts preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  1. Suggests improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  1. Works to prevent future mechanical issues.
  1. Conducts inspections, including areas governed by Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
  1. Maintenance checks on RTO and Chiller (pressure, system running, reset alarms).
  1. Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  1. Records and tracks work orders and parts supplies using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and SAP systems.
  1. Is available for on-call duties and willing to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Five (5) years of experience in manufacturing preferred.

Requirements:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Solid understanding of basic mechanics and electronics, with proficiency in applying this knowledge.
  • Electrical experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaborate well with colleagues.


Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to communicate orally and written in English.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures by using basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).

Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificate/License: Completion of basic electrical course work/certification is required. Must have forklift operator license at time of hire/transfer or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire/transfer into job.
