Job Quick Facts: Specialty: Pediatrician Job Type: Locum Tenens Facility Location: Merced, CA Service Setting: Outpatient Reason For Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Period: June 17 - Dec 31, 2024 Coverage Type: Clinical Only Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri; 8a-5p Patient Volume: 24 Type of Cases: Sick and Well Child Visits Physician in Practice: 1 Support Staff: Medical Assistants and LVN Procedures: - Perform History and Physical exams, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients from birth to young adulthood (21 yrs of age) with acute and chronic disease including major complicated illnesses. - I & D abscess, repair of lacerations circumcision in newborn, partial/complete nail removal - Local anesthesia, nerve block - Neonatal care (normal), intubation, thoracentesis (aspiration only), lumbar puncture, arterial puncture, EKG interpretation, management of patient on ventilator, joint aspiration. Duties: - Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of pediatric patients - Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans. - Provide guidance and support to parents/caregivers on child development, nutrition, and overall wellness. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care. - Educate patients and their families on preventive healthcare measures and wellness practices. - Maintain accurate medical records and keep up-to-date with best practices in pediatric medicine.
