Job Description

Our Danfoss Valve & Pump Solutions team is seeking a Product Engineer to join its team. Are you eager to design, test, and develop new and innovative products for mobile hydraulics industry? The Product Engineer will operate daily out of Eden Prairie, MN facility and will report to the Engineer Manager. We are not able to support work authorization at any point during employment for this position. Support for domestic relocation may be provided.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Perform and document design calculations and verify necessary tolerance stack-ups for new designs and revisions and conduct product design reviews and implement recommended changes.

  • Develop verification plans using established engineering processes. Execute tests, analyze engineering data, write effective test requests, and clearly summarize findings in technical reports. Present results to the organization and customers in support of engineering projects.

  • Maintain product design control, initiating and following through on engineering changes, and ensuring complete documentation of new designs or changes to ensure robust data quality.

  • Initiate and execute project plans, including scheduling actions and allocating resources to meet project objectives.

  • Resolve product performance issues through team-oriented problem solving and documenting according to the 8D process for root cause analysis.

  • May support in evaluating feasibility for new configurations, change requests, and new features on open circuit pumps produced globally.

  • Provide technical support to other functional areas and interface with internal organizations such as sales, manufacturing, marketing, service, quality, and purchasing, as well as external customers and suppliers.

  • Staying updated on engineering and technology fields relevant to Danfoss products.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering from an accredited institution. Masters or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering is preferred

  • Internship or Co-op experience in the relevant engineering field

  • Demonstrate ability to balance actively seeking input and being self-directed to achieve agreed upon objectives

  • General understanding of manufacturing processes as it relates to machining and Design for Manufacturability

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic systems and the respective components

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with design and analysis tools such as CAD and MATLAB

  • Three years of professional experience in developing and testing to validate system performance.

  • Solid hands-on mechanical and troubleshooting skills

  • Demonstrated technical background and work experiences
