Pharmacy Practice Faculty

The School of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Practice Faculty member to provide high quality education in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. The ideal candidate will be committed to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success, and will have excellent organizational and communication skills. The Pharmacy Practice Faculty will deliver instruction in a variety of formats including in-person and online, as well as clinical and laboratory courses, and will participate in service and scholarship activities.
The successful candidate will have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, residency and/or fellowship or equivalent experience in emergency medicine or related areas, and eligibility to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Pharmacy Practice Faculty will collaborate with colleagues across the University, and with clinical service patient care teams in the provision of care to patients at a designated clinical site. A record of scholarly activities is also required for this role, as well as demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver instruction in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program
- Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria
- Provide interesting and engaging assignments that demonstrate real-world applications of concepts covered
- Advise and assist students through appointments, phone, email and other University-approved mechanisms
- Provide service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment
- Collaborate with colleagues in clinical trials, projects, and committee work as specified by the practice site
- Attend and participate in meetings, ceremonies, and other major events, and serves as a member of University committees as assigned
- Contribute to periodic reviews and revisions of departmental course offerings
- Maintain advanced knowledge in discipline and areas of expertise
- Build and maintain relationships with professional organizations involved with the healthcare sector
- Participate in University continuing education programs
- Conduct original research and related forms of scholarship in areas of expertise
- Publish study results, reports and reviews in peer reviewed journals and present results
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand and walk as part of classroom instruction
- Ability to use technology, such as typing and manipulating a mouse/mouse pad
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
