Work Shift: Night

The Clinical Nurse plays a vital role in assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing, and managing patient needs throughout their care. This position emphasizes facilitating efficient progress towards discharge, especially during transitions within the acute care environment. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the oversight and delivery of quality patient care by the caregiving team, ensuring a compassionate approach for all customers, including patients and hospital staff, across inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.

Hourly Range: $34.65 - $35.69

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, and performing necessary treatments and procedures while adhering to company policies and regulations.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to accurately assess patient conditions.
  • Evaluating patient needs and responses to care provided.
  • Utilizing sound nursing judgment in making patient care management decisions.
  • Providing primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational health issues.
  • Administering medications as prescribed by the physician.
  • Collaborating with the nursing team to develop and refine a comprehensive Plan of Care for each patient.
  • Guiding ancillary personnel and upholding professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized nursing program, earning a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC must be obtained and maintained.
  • 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department, preferably in a large academic setting, Level 1 Trauma Center, or Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • A commitment to improving job performance through ongoing education.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement concepts, principles, and techniques, with the ability to apply them effectively in support of patient care quality initiatives.
