Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Fitter to work out of one of our offices in Waggaman, LA. Fitters are responsible for preparing and erecting the materials in order to be welded.

IMMEDIATE INTERVIEWS IF APPLYING IN PERSON MONDAY-FRIDAY 8AM-2PM.

Essential Duties:
  • Assist the welding team in any needed areas.
  • Prepare all materials to be fitted from shop prints including pulling materials, drilling, punching, grinding, and operation of cranes and/or forklifts.
  • Compile all prepared materials for the welding team.
  • Assist the department foreman in meeting production targets.
  • Maintain quality standards.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Notify managers concerning any non-conformities and the need for repairs to the facility or equipment.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
Days/Shift:
  • Monday thru Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
Ideal Candidate:
  • Must be able to pass the C&P fitting test within the allotted time.
  • Have experience in MIG/MMA welding process.
  • Candidates must be able to measure quickly and accurately in order to keep scrap at a minimum.
  • Have exceptional attention to detail.
  • Be able to stand and work in a warm environment for an 8 hour shift.
  • Have good working knowledge of figures and numbers.
  • Be able to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Be able to lift and carry heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
