This position will provide comprehensive quality support to Proterra’s pack assembly operations as well as Site Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineering, and other site leadership team members. You will be responsible for ensuring that products are assembled and delivered in accordance with established Quality Standards and customers’ specifications. You will provide organized communication and support to quality technicians and engineers on your team and help to drive a built-in quality mindset within the production team. This position will report to the Quality Supervisor and collaborate with other Quality and Supplier Quality team members located on-site.
About the Role – You Will:
- Inspect completed production packs according to the Quality Engineer approved standards found in the line MES. This is the primary function of the role.
- Perform additional inspections or tasks in support of production (ex: in-process inspections, sub-assembly inspections), also according to the Quality Engineer approved standards found in the line MES. This is the secondary function of the role.
- Coordinate with team leads and supervisors to inspect packs per priority for availability of carts and other factors that support productions needs while maintaining high quality standards in completed packs.
- Ensure all inspection failures are reported to the Quality Technician, assisting in investigations as needed.
- Develop a thorough understanding of all aspects of pack construction so as to support understanding of defects, where they occur, and how they could potentially impact customers.
- Support the quality team with development of and changes to inspection plans as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

- This position will be part of the Quality team that supports operations in Greer, SC.
- You will report to the Quality Supervisor and collaborate with other Quality and Supplier Quality team members located on-site as well as at our Battery headquarters in Burlingame, CA.
- Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent, and works under pressure with tight schedules that may require extra hours to meet deadlines.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to adapt interpersonal styles and techniques to communicate with all levels of the organization and actively coordinate with other departments.
- Ability to establish trust and credibility, act with complete integrity, and help others to maintain the same expected performance standards.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma (two-year technical degree preferred).
- One to three years’ experience in a fast-paced assembly/manufacturing environment.
- Experience with performing quality inspections on a complex series of parts looking for a variety of defect modes preferred (automotive or other large-scale manufacturing a plus).
- Working knowledge of torque tools
- May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
- Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
- Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
- Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
- Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
- Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
- Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc
