Summary: A QA Engineer (Embedded QA Tester) is responsible for finding technical bugs and working with cross-functional partners to identify solutions. This role tests Supernatural's experiences across major headsets and devices, including Meta Quests, Heart Rate Trackers, Android phones and iOS devices and website. The EQA (Embedded Quality Assurance) Team consists of embedded testers who are assigned to various teams within Supernatural. Their primary role is to test features in the early test cycle stages and be a team leader. They work directly with developers to ensure that features are bug free prior to making its way to the RQA (Release Quality Assurance) team for final testing and submission. Required Skills: QA Tester, Supernatural VR Responsibilities: Test and help debug pre-released software for defects. Perform internal EQA testing and any other related checks as needed for additional support. Create clear and detailed reports for the projects tested by EQA as applicable. Install, setup and maintain VR hardware and equipment. Help review and analyze any necessary software, devices and hardware needed. Help distribute and mitigate testing/checks among the team as applicable. Promptly bring serious defects to the attention of the stakeholders. Creation and analysis of test cases, test plans and meetings associated with these. Attend and participate in stand up development and related meetings. Monitor, setup and distribute CMS and API related checks within EQA. Create test plans - create test plans based on the features and priorities, allowing testing of these new features to be thorough and complete per the information provided by the engineers. Communicate updates of features for test cases to changes made to RQA leadership. Create test runs - create and maintain information on test runs for the current workload. They are expected to keep up to date on the test run progress and ensure that testing is adjusted if needed based on progress. Support team during meetings, retros and stand ups - attend any required meetings as needed. They’re expected to take notes and relay any information to the appropriate stakeholders to ensure all information is passed along properly. Provide feedback during TDD reviews - attend TDD reviews and ask questions that would assist in understanding the process from a EQA perspective. Coordinate tasks with other departments - coordinate additional testing requests and questions with stakeholders, ensuring that all information is being communicated and that tasks are handled within the current workload. Coordinate CMS/API related tasks as needed with QA (Note* CMS/API access is only given to Inhouse Testers/Leads atm) - assist outsource testers with changing and assisting settings with API docs, CMS and Stripe platforms based on what is needed. This consists of, but is not limited to, creating QA accounts, setting users to specific AB test settings, adding workouts of the day, setting up Kill Switch, unlocking transfer limits and changing subscription settings depending on what tests are being worked on. Communicate with Stakeholders - reach out to stakeholders to confirm questions and information as well as provide support as needed. Assisting with Testing - perform functionality testing as needed in case additional work comes in that can’t be covered by testers or to provide support if needed during test runs. Communicate with other departments on EQA updates and support - attend all high level meetings regarding upcoming features, changes and requests and this information is then shared to other depts as requested. Provide support as needed for outsource tester groups - maintain a high level of communication with our outsource group and provide support as needed on a daily basis. Assisting with Tools/Accounts - Expected to assist and help set up any specific tools/accounts as needed for testing. This includes identifying any issues, access and ways to improve the tools and accounts for testing. Communicate requirements and how well those requirements are being met. Proactively find problems or make suggestions. You drive to resolution often without guidance. Seek out ways to improve the components or systems you work on to facilitate easier development of new features. Help to make the people around you more efficient by identifying issues slowing the team down and driving changes to address them. Drive tasks across other teams and as such you are able to build relationships as needed across teams. You understand how to be empathetic. Learn new technologies and invest in improving your skills on your own. Provide detailed positive and constructive feedback to the manager of your team as to the performance of other members on the team. You take part in helping to make the team better. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta. 4+ years of game/app testing experience on current consoles, PC, Android, and/or iOS experience to work in both a team environment and independently. Experience with using attention to detail, multitasking and meeting deadlines. Experience with bug tracking software such as JIRA. Understanding of the software test cycle process. Familiarity with testing in an Agile Development environment. Experience leading people towards a common goal regardless of whether you are “in charge.” Experience multitasking and prioritizing multiple tasks with little to no guidance. Proven experience with attention to detail while meeting deadlines. Experience working in a team environment and independently. Flexibility to work overtime if needed. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years experience with coding. Having a track record of successfully completing projects of large scope. Involvement with a shipped game or app on console/PC/mobile. Experience creating/updating Test Cases and/or Test Plans. Experience in TestRail or equivalent. Experience installing, setting up, using, and troubleshooting VR hardware and HRTs.
