Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite)
Type: Contract/FT both
Rate- $65-70/hr
Salary-$100-120K per annum
Note- Focus on strong C++ SW development with aerospace experience. Good aerospace-centric C++ engineer who ideally has participated in flight test campaigns to help debug their code on live aircraft
(Coder and Tester)
We really need someone with solid embedded SW C++ programming skills, ideally with Aero experience, but not a show stopper.
They don't need to be "systems" engineering or have a higher level integration skill set .
Mandate:
1. 5-10 years of Aerospace experience
2. ble to debug on the aircraft (UAS) at the flight test center (Byron AFB, east of San Francisco)
3. With Mission and Safety Critical application experience.
Tools and SW:-
Mostly flight controls and autopilot.
Protocols : Mostly CAN + RS422/485 + Ethernet/UDP
Requirements Database Management Tool(s)- JAMA
Configuration Management Tool(s)- Jira, GIT
All flight software is C++ developed on a Linux host. We have lots of support tooling written in Python. Effective candidates will need to be proficient in both.
Define success criteria:-
Near term is broken into two flight milestones as you've described, hover-in-ground, hover-out-of-ground.
Mid-term would be transition to forward flight, followed by starting in earnest on our "certified path" (non RnD) aircraft implementation
Long term supporting multiple programs both certified and non-certified, scaling for manufacturing. Both will require a significantly larger team.
