Licensed Optician

The following is a description of responsibilities for an Optical Associate: - Verify all order data entry and compare the prescription (Rx) to the original Rx provided by the doctor to ensure that all the information entered in the system is accurate. - File orders correctly under the correct ABC system in the store.
- Provide excellent customer service to members in person and over the phone. Explain in detail all procedures included under the exam fee and maintain a friendly and pleasant demeanor at all times.
- Take measurements, assure correct frame selection for Rx power, read prescriptions on the lensometer, and timely notification of product readiness, including received, notified, and dispense of each job.
- Strive to deliver sales and metric goals by educating patients on the benefits of available products and recommending those that will improve their visual needs.
- Spend downtime engaging with members in front of Optical.
- Adhere to all privacy and confidential/proprietary company policies and procedures (i.e. Health Information Portability and Accountability Act, known as HIPAA) as required by law. Provide support to Members in making eyeglass adjustments and repairs.
- Assist Optical Manager with the opening and closing procedures at the beginning and end of the shift. Ensure that accurate funds are collected, and payments are made at the point of service.
- Maintain all club policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Regular and predictable full attendance is an essential function of this job.

Qualifications
It is required that the optician must possess a valid and up-to-date license to work within the State. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of optical products and business practices, as well as prior experience in big box wholesale, retail, and/or optical fields. A high school diploma or college degree is also preferred.
