Harbor Health is seeking a Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health Team at the Daniel Driscoll Neponset Health Center. This role may be part time (24 hours weekly) or full time, and further crafted to meet the specific interests and skills of our job candidate.

The Psychiatristcoordinates and assists with overseeing psychiatric services together with Harbor Health's Behavioral Health Director across all of Harbor's Community Health Centers, as well as provides direct services to patients. Duties include but are not limited to evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric conditions; issuing prescriptions and maintenance for clients on psychotropic medication; assumes leadership role in case conferences and in-service training of staff; actively participates in peer review and Utilization Review (UR).
Responsibilities:
- Prescribes and maintains clients on psychotropic medication.
- Evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric conditions.
- Supports substance use disorder care.
- Participates in diagnostic formulations and development of treatment plans for the department.
- Supports Behavioral Health Director with input and review of behavioral health-related policies.
- Takes a leadership role in case conferences and in-service training of staff, including an overview of medical problems and organic psychiatric and neurological problems.
- Participates in Peer Review and Utilization Review.
- Collaborates with psychiatric nurse practitioner in consultation and peer review.
- Provides psychiatric consultation to primary care medical providers.
- Participates in training of Behavioral Health Department interns and staff, possibly also other Agency staff, as arranged with Behavioral Health Department Director.
- Completes appropriate documentation and submits charges in a timely manner as required.
- Completed accredited physician residency and training in Psychiatry
- Current Massachusetts MD License, MCSR, DEA, and Basic Life Support required
- Board certified in Psychiatry
- Experience in addiction medicine, integrated health care teams and interest in Community Health populations preferred
- Basic skills in effectively using Microsoft Office 365 applications: specifically, Word, Excel and Outlook & Teams
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records system, EPIC/OCHIN preferred
- Ability to work effectively with economically, racially and linguistically diverse customers
