General Objectives

  • As a key member of the radiation oncology team, you will bring your expertise in the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation treatment machines and equipment, with a focus on brachytherapy procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist to generate precise radiation dose distributions and calculations.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry program or certified as a Medical Dosimetrist.
  • Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
  • Compliance with national and state laws and institutional policies related to practicing medical dosimetry in Colorado.
Skills
  • Proficiency in understanding the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics to create computerized treatment plans and communicate effectively with the Radiation Oncologist and Radiation Therapist.
  • Experience with treatment planning systems such as Mosaiq EMR, MIM for fusions (highly desired), Varian TrueBeam linac, Oncentra HDR, and Varian Eclipse v15.
  • Ability to perform routine duties independently while consulting with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as needed.
  • Competence in operating and performing quality assurance on the treatment planning computer under the direction of the Medical Physicist.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and current regulations pertaining to radiation therapy.
  • Ability to interpret and execute treatment plans as defined in relevant protocols.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and introductory calculus, with the ability to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts.
Experience
  • 5 years of experience in a related field.
