Job Summary

The AWS Cloud Engineer will join a collaborative, innovative team to develop and deliver secure, stable, and scalable cloud technology solutions. This role requires extensive software engineering experience, with a focus on AWS services, DevOps practices, and cloud migrations. The AWS Cloud Engineer will be responsible for managing complex cloud projects, optimizing system performance, and designing resilient platforms that meet high availability and performance standards. A strong background in programming, container orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead public cloud migration projects, identifying and mitigating risks in complex systems

• Develop and implement software solutions, utilizing innovative approaches to resolve technical issues

• Manage end-to-end platform issues, ensuring solutions on the AWS Cloud are stable and high-performing

• Drive the adoption and integration of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, CloudFront) for enhanced cloud utility

• Design secure, resilient, and efficient platforms in AWS, adhering to best practices

• Optimize system performance, proactively addressing customer needs and improvements

• Provide operational support and troubleshoot issues on the public cloud platform, automating routine tasks

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure positive user experiences and real-world solutions

• Organize and conduct Game Days, Resiliency tests, and Chaos engineering exercises

• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, Go, and SQL, along with AWS and container services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with practical system design, application development, and operational stability

• Proficiency in Java, Python, Go, and other relevant programming languages

• In-depth experience with AWS services (EC2, ALB, NLB, DynamoDB, EKS, S3, etc.)

• Advanced knowledge of modern technologies like Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes, and AWS

• Experience with DevOps tools in cloud environments (Ansible, GitHub, Docker, Jenkins, Maven)

• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform

• Experience managing high-volume, SLA-critical applications and messaging/event-driven architectures

• Strong understanding of financial industry IT systems

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Associate-level certification in Developer, Solutions Architect, or DevOps

• Advanced expertise in Java and/or event-driven architecture tools like Apache Kafka

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Grafana)

• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery tools (Gradle, Maven, Spinnaker)

• Experience with microservices architecture and dependencies across high-volume applications
