We are seeking a Dental Sterilization Technician (DST) to join our growing team for our practice. If you are patient centered, enjoy working with kids and families, used to a fast paced, high-volume but fun working environment, we want you to be part of our team

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Properly sterilize all dental instruments and equipment in accordance with OSHA and departmental standards
  • Perform all opening of the front, closing, and maintenance procedures as well as other duties as delegated by the Clinical Supervisor/Manager
  • Restock and maintain an inventory of dental supplies and instruments to assure a constant level is always available
  • Communicate to the Clinical Supervisor, any supplies that need replenishing or replacement
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in the consultation, treatment rooms and in the sterilization area
  • Maintain proper pre-set trays and ensure they are ready for anticipated procedures and ready all necessary materials and instruments needed for treatment
  • Assist clinical staff in optimizing patient flow. This will include restocking technician stations during clinic hours if needed, seating patients, “floating,” and supporting other dental team members with patient care
  • Prepare operatory for patient reception and assure it is as aseptic as possible for patient welfare
  • Assist Dental Assistants with seating patients when necessary.
  • Demonstrate understanding and apply working knowledge of safety policies and ensure safe member practices
  • Safely perform all duties; follow required protective protocols to ensure personal safety as well as the safety of others Wear long sleeve shirts with scrubs

Other qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 year of dental assisting or sterilization experience preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is a plus
  • Knowledge in working with Dental Software such as Eaglesoft and Opera DDS is preferred
  • Strong computer skills
  • Fluent in English with proficiency in Spanish or other languages being a strong advantage
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and strong schedule management required
  • Weave and Revenue Well text messaging
  • Must be willing to work one Saturday a month
