We are currently seeking a dedicated Regional Relief Driver to join our winning team at our Sacramento, CA branch. The Regional Relief Driver will responsible for providing relief route coverage for various locations within the Fresh DSD business segment, which may be require assisting other locations for several days or weeks at a time. This position will be required to deliver our quality products to our customers, while providing excellent customer service. This position will be responsible for demonstrating our Producers Dairy Core Values and carrying out our purpose of Nourishing Lives.

Responsibilities
  • Must have cross-functional knowledge of all routes and be able to perform route deliveries as prescribed.
  • Performing all tasks in a safe manner in accordance with Company safety polices and practices, including but not limited to, ensuring personally safe behavior and helping to cultivate a safe work environment. This includes identifying unsafe behaviors, practices and environmental conditions.
  • Complying with all federal, state, local and company driving regulations.
  • Verifying assigned delivery route for the day and obtaining the proper route documentation.
  • Locating assigned equipment in yard; performing a vehicle pre-trip inspection and recording any deficiencies; checking loads in trailers for stability while transporting and ensuring product count accuracy.
  • Interfacing with customers in a friendly professional manner delivering superior customer service.
  • Assisting with the development of route-specific training SOP's and route standards.
  • Locating empty equipment/assets (bossy carts, green cases, ice cream racks, etc.), counting and securing items on pallets, if warranted.
  • Collecting route settlement paperwork, reviewing for accuracy, submitting it to the branch at the end of the day.
  • Must be flexible with days off, as dynamic schedule is subject to change.
  • Must be open to cover any route at any of the Producers Fresh DSD locations.
  • Must be open to overnight routes as needed.
  • Maintaining professional and appropriate dress, hygiene and personal appearance. Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset and engaging in Producers Dairy Mission Statement to identify value, prioritize resources and maximize improvement opportunities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualififcations

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class B License with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a Route Sales Driver or School Route Driver.
  • MUST be adaptable to changing conditions and environments.
  • Must have experience using a handheld device for timekeeping, customer transactions and ELD (Electronic Logging Device)
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of team members.
  • Strong sense of ownership and urgency.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong team player who can work across multiple functions and disciplines.
Preferred:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • DSD experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Employee Health & Safety Practices.
