Job Summary/Description
Function: Assists in the coordination of patient care activities for endoscopic procedures.
Scope: Impacts patient care in endoscopic procedures.
 
Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for the set-up, maintenance, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of all endoscopic, ultra-sound, and laser equipment used in endoscopic procedures
  • Cleans and prepares procedure rooms
  • Assists the physician and registered nurse in caring for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
  • Transports patients to appropriate locations
  • Creates and edits report templates to be generated by the physicians
  • Ensures dictated reports contain all pertinent information
  • Contributes to maintaining inventory of supplies to provide full service to endoscopy
  • Performs routine equipment maintenance
  • Participates in continuous monitoring and quality improvement efforts
 
Minimum Qualifications
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Education Preferred: Graduation from a surgical technologist program.
Experience Required: One year of endoscopy experience. Certification from an approved endoscopy education program or graduation from a surgical technologist school may be substituted for the required experience.
Experience Preferred: One year of endoscopy experience.
