Description
Markon is looking for an experienced Project Engineer - Systems Control/Integration with expertise in the construction industry to provide Owner's Representative construction management services to a DoD client. The Project Engineer - Systems Control/Integration will work to support a DOD client looking to manage the construction of a new Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Currency Production Facility (CPF) to provide a modern, secure, and innovative facility for the manufacturing of United States currency for the BEP. The Facility will occupy a 104-acre site in Beltsville, Maryland. The construction project is comprised of a primary building with a footprint of approximately one million square feet.
Responsibilities
- System Integration: Ensure that all automated systems-AGVs, AMRs, automated storage, MES, WMS, and BAS-meet design intent, integration goals, and operate seamlessly within the facility's broader infrastructure.
- RFIs & Submittals: Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and review technical submittals for systems integration, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and design objectives.
- Change Management: Assist in reviewing and providing technical input on construction change orders impacting systems integration. Work with the project team to assess the implications of changes on system functionality and timelines.
- Meetings & Documentation: Facilitate and lead integration meetings with stakeholders, including USACE, general contractors, BEP staff, and external vendors. Document meeting minutes and track action items to ensure timely resolution of integration issues.
- Schedule & Coordination: Collaborate with the construction team to coordinate the scheduling of equipment installation and integration activities, ensuring alignment with the construction project timeline.
- System Testing: Oversee testing and validation of integrated systems to ensure functionality, adherence to specifications, and that all subsystems are correctly interfaced.
- Problem Solving: Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting to resolve design, process, and operational issues related to system integration.
- Reporting: Provide weekly and monthly reports to the project team and stakeholders, summarizing system performance, integration progress, and any outstanding issues.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems integration within large-scale, automated facilities, such as warehouse operations involving robotics and transport systems.
- Experience in environments similar to automated Amazon warehouses or other highly automated logistics/industrial facilities.
- Experience on projects valued at more than $100 million.
- Preferred but not required: a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Robotics Engineering.
- USACE experience required, USACE Baltimore District project experience or RSFO highly preferred
- Experience working with MES, WMS, BAS, HVAC, and industrial automation systems.
- Familiarity with construction-related processes, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM) certification
- Federal project experience preferred.
- Per contractual requirements, all candidates must be US Citizens eligible for a security clearance
Salary Range
USD $100,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr.
