Summary Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures assuring optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens to ensure accurate and timely test processing. Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures. Performs quality control, proficiency testing and routine instrument maintenance and inventory control and document as required. Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical error and/or adverse patient outcomes. Follows regulatory requirements, competency requirements and maintains safe laboratory practice. Completes assigned goals. Requirements, Preferences and Experience Education Minimum: Associate's Degree in a Medical Laboratory Technician program - CAHEA accredited. Experience Preferred: 1 year hospital/clinic experience preferred. Minimum: None Licensure, Registration, Certification Minimum: Must have one of the following two certifications as a minimum requirement: ASCP or NCA or obtain within 8 months of hire date.
