Mgr Clinical Imaging, Full Time, Days

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Radiology Director, The Manager is Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness for the supervision of all Imaging services. The following statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements, which may be inherent in the position. Commitment to the delivery of competent patient care supported by lines of communications and coordination with physicians, patients and co-workers. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
Responsibilities include knowledge of all Imaging procedures, proper patient positioning, exposures, Utilization of PACS, implementation of patient charges, and assists physicians as required. Will be available for emergency on-call procedures as required, or set forth. Recognizes the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

- Helps to Ensure that all Imaging procedures meet quality and regulatory standards.
1. Helps to Ensure that all sections of the Imaging department
produce images that meet accepted quality standards.
2. Directs Imaging employees regarding proper Radiation
Safety, and Protection from undue Radiation exposure.
3. Assures enforcement of safety regulations in all areas.
4. Participate in maintaining and acquiring information
For Performance Improvement projects
5. Helps to Ensure that all equipment is safe, and maintained
In a way that promotes effective and safe patient care,
In accordance to all regulatory State and Joint Commission
guidelines.
2. Ensures Ability to Supervise others and Find Solutions to Difficult Technical or Employee / Patient Problems.
1. Maintains an open and Honest working relationship with all
Employees.
2. Participates in Patient and Employee Satisfaction
meetings when needed.
3. Shows responsiveness in resolution of customer service
Issues which affect or stem from the Imaging department.
4. Helps organize assignments and schedules to maximize
efficiency of self and staff.
3. Ensures the effectiveness of Imaging Services in accordance with DMH Standards.
1. Demonstrates an Attitude, communication style, and
Commitment to co-workers that reflects the value of
Respect for every Patient, Individual , and Physician.
2. Achieves department goals in accordance with the mission
and philosophy of DMH and the standards of Imaging
services.
3. Works with Radiologist to help maintain 24 hr Turn around
on all Radiology reports.
4. Ensures completion of staff competency sheets,
and yearly employee education.
5. Keeps Radiology Director informed of overall
departmental operations and any new trends or concerns.
4. Accomplishes Department goals set by Radiology Director.
1. Helps to Facilitate appropriate and needed Information to
Staff on a daily bases.
2. Oversees the Hospital Imaging PACS system.
3. Completes departmental reports in a timely manner
i.e. Radiology time & Attendance, Stats, TAT, P.I. projects.
4. Attends meetings and required managerial
education programs as required by the Hospital
5. Helps to Ensure that all procedures are properly billed,
And charged on a weekly bases.

Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Manager of Imaging is a High School graduateor equivalent with satisfactory completion of an approved radiologic or other Imaging technology training program. Must be a registered technologist within the Imaging Field; has attained experience and possess capabilities as determined to be adequate by the Director and Medical Director of Radiology.
