job summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join our team on 1st Shift 7 AM - 3:30 PM. The ideal candidate will perform a wide variety of optical or opto-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.

responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly, testing, and data collection on optical and opto-mechanical assembly units.

  • Determine and/or follow methods and sequences of operations for assembly processes.

  • Produce a variety of optical components, including sub-assembly, assembly, prototype, inspection, modifications, upgrades, and rework.

  • Assemble lens products according to manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, travelers, configuration logs, etc.).

  • Conduct manual and/or automatic assembly, inspection, and testing of optical parts.

  • Verify the completeness and correctness of kits.

  • Assist Engineering in the creation, development, and revision of assembly documentation.

  • Ensure the accuracy of finished assemblies to maintain high-quality output.

  • Collaborate closely with the Test Team, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments.

  • Process assemblies using a variety of materials such as adhesives, coatings, and epoxies.

  • Perform mechanical assembly using various hand tools (drivers, sockets, etc.).

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Some experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to work from written instructions, process travelers, and other documentation.

  • Experience in the assembly of opto-mechanical components with related tooling.

  • Familiarity with ISO policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of clean room procedures.

  • Ability to work with small parts under a microscope for extended periods.

  • Manual dexterity and proficiency in mechanical assembly.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
