  • Shift Timings: Night Shift 18:00 - 06:30
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
  • Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of Respiratory Therapy experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Active unencumbered Respiratory Therapist Illinois state license
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred. Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred. ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialist) from NBRC preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
