Job Description

IAT Insurance Group has a Quality Assurance (Application Delivery) Intern in our Information Technology Business Unit in our Raleigh, North Carolina or Naperville, Illinois, or Rolling Meadows, Illinois location for the summer of 2025. As a QA Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software testing methodologies and practices. You will work closely with our QA team and other stake holders to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. The anticipated start date for this internship is May 27th, 2025. Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand the basics of the automation tools and frameworks used in the organization
  • Assist in designing and writing simple test automation scripts under supervision
  • Execute test cases and analyze results to report any defects or issues
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to understand testing objectives and ensure automated tests are aligned with these goals
  • Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and standards in test automation
  • Maintain and update test scripts based on new features and changes in the application
  • Document test automation processes and results to assist in continuous improvement efforts
  • Engage in daily stand-up meetings to stay updated on the project status and discuss any challenges
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications:

Must Have:
  • Rising undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior (we will consider graduate school students)
  • Ability to work out of Raleigh, North Carolina or Naperville, Illinois, or Rolling Meadows, Illinois without housing or relocation assistance from IAT
  • Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing principles
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.
Preferred to Have:
  • Major in Computer Science
  • Familiarity with testing tools and methodologies
  • Ability in scripting languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.

Compensation:

Please note, that the hourly rate associated with this posting is $17 - $25. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base hourly rate for this position. Actual hourly rate will vary based on a candidate's class standing and major.
