Position Summary:
Provides clinical support to patients in the primary care clinic under the supervision of the physician. Oversees clinical staff. Provides continuity and coordination of care in the outpatient setting.
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Medical Assistant required. Other Certificate from a Certificate from a college in Medical Assistant in lieu of Associate's required
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Requires ability to read and write legibly and carry out direction promptly and accurately. Must exhibit effective communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Requires the ability to respond quickly and calmly under stressful or emergency situations. Ability to operate or learn to operate the following equipment: Pulse Ox, Ear Syringe, Cryosurgery instruments, EKG Machine, Suture/Staple Removal, Nebulizer, Crash Cart, Portable O2 tank, Assist with minor surgery. Knowledge and skills to provide age appropriate care to patients
Required Certifications/Licenses:
Certified Medical Assistant Certificate or Registered Medical Assistant required.
American Heart Association BLS Provider required
Minimum Work Experience:
Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
