Mental Health Professional-

Summary: The Project Zero Suicide in Alabama initiative seeks to implement the Zero Suicide Model of Care in Cullman County, targeting individuals aged 18 and above in rural and underserved areas. The project aims to enhance suicide prevention practices by providing universal suicide screening in public health care settings, improving outcomes for at-risk adults, including veterans, and enhancing training for professionals to effectively manage individuals at risk of suicide.

We are seeking a master's level mental health professional to support the licensed mental health clinician in providing comprehensive mental health services. The ideal candidate will assist with assessments, case management, psychoeducation, and other specified duties as part of the interdisciplinary team. This position requires the ability to enter data, complete administrative tasks, and work effectively in a healthcare setting, including spending time in the emergency department. This position will also need to attend the monthly interdisciplinary meetings.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications: Candidates must have a master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. Empathy, professionalism, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are crucial. Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and the ability to assist in therapy sessions and provide psychoeducation under supervision is important.

Desired Skills: Experience working with individuals at high risk for suicide is preferred though not obligatory. Experience in mental health or healthcare settings is preferred. Essential skills include proficiency with electronic health records (HER) systems, strong organizational and time management abilities, and the capacity to handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation, and case management.
