Job Summary:

As a roofer, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems. You will work with various roofing materials, including shingles, metal, and tiles, to ensure that roofs are weatherproof and structurally sound. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of roofing techniques and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation:

- Install new roofing systems, including shingles, metal panels, tiles, and membranes, according to specifications and building codes.

- Lay roofing materials in overlapping layers to ensure waterproofing.

- Install underlayment, flashing, and insulation as needed.

Repair:

- Inspect roofs for damage or wear, identifying problems such as leaks, missing shingles, or damaged flashing.

- Perform necessary repairs, including patching holes, replacing damaged shingles, and sealing leaks.

- Ensure that repairs are durable and match the existing roofing material.

Maintenance:

- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of roofs to prevent potential issues.

- Clean gutters, downspouts, and other roof drainage systems to ensure proper water flow.

- Remove debris from roofs to prevent damage and maintain functionality.

Safety:

- Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents and injuries.

- Follow guidelines for working at heights and on ladders.

- Maintain a clean and organized work site to minimize hazards.

Customer Service:

- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide accurate estimates.

- Address customer concerns and provide professional recommendations

- Maintain a high level of professionalism and courtesy while on the job.

Tools and Equipment:

- Operate and maintain roofing tools and equipment, including nail guns, hammers, and scaffolding.

- Ensure tools are in good working condition and properly stored.

Experience:

Previous experience in roofing or related trades preferred but not always required. On-the-job training may be provided.
