MD/DO Annual Salary: $172,943.68 to $204,422.40 (Based on a 27 hour work week)

Established in 2023, CommuniCare+OLE is the result of a union of two health centers with a deep roots in their respective communities and reputations for providing high-quality primary care to all, regardless of insurance or ability to pay: OLE Health of Napa and Solano Counties and CommuniCare Health Centers of Yolo County. Building on a legacy established by both organizations in 1972, CommuniCare+OLE is a network of federally-qualified health centers with 17 sites across Napa, Solano, and Yolo Counties. It offers comprehensive care, including medical, dental, behavioral health and substance use treatment, nutrition, optometry, pharmacy, care coordination, referrals, and enrollment assistance to more than 70,000 individuals, and no one is turned away due to lack of insurance, immigration status, or ability to pay. Many services are offered outside of its sites, including mobile health, home visiting, and community and school-based programs.

JOB SUMMARY: The Pediatrician is responsible for providing medical diagnosis, treatment services and managing quality health care services to patients under age 21 while working closely with other healthcare staff in a team approach.
KNOWLEDGE OF WORK

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides the following health care services for patients: assessment/evaluation, diagnosis, treatment/prescribing, planning and educationPrescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditionsReviews and manages patient information including labs, diagnostic images, prescription refills, outside consultation notes, previous medical records, specialist referrals, etc.Trains and supervises medical students and residents, as appropriateRefers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care services as appropriatePrioritizes patient care throughout the dayProvides acute triage over the phone or with walk in patientsPerforms various in office procedures as directedDocuments all appropriate information in electronic health record systemResponds to messages and relay information to patients and other external sources as neededCompletes various medical related forms as neededDirects and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as appropriateMay participate in and collaborate with staff/teams on various support-related functions including quality assurance, care team development, system optimization, empanelment, policy and procedure development, etc.Trains and supervises medical students and residents, as appropriateDocuments care in the medical record and appropriately complete encounter forms for each patient encounterMaintains hospital privileges, licensure, CPR, and DEA certification, as well as other certifications and licenses as requiredFunctions as a member of the medical team, including maintaining appropriate communications with other team members and attendance at agency meetingsAttends medical staff meetings and general staff meetingsMaintains a level of professional and ethical behaviorPerforms other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- MD or DO, licensed in California, with Board Certification.
- Must have or obtain current California medication furnishing license.
- Must have or obtain current DEA License.
- Must maintain CEUs as required for certification renewals.
- Current Basic Life Support CPR certification required.
- Experience in a community healthcare center preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; Bilingual (English/Spanish) language preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required; must have ability to handle difficult patients.
- Must have strong time management skills, ability to prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills required.
- Computer and data entry skills required; electronic health record system preferred.
CommuniCare+OLE requires pre-employment drug-testing (4-panel drug-test includes: amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, and PCP).
