Position Summary:

The dietetic technician is responsible for the nutritional care of the residents in conjunction with the Dietary Department as well as the Nursing Staff. Is responsible for initial and ongoing assessments, care plans, and documentation as required by the State and Federal Regulations. Is responsible for the management of the Dietary Department in the absence of the Dietary Manager. Assists Administrator and/or Assistant Administrator as well as corporate staff with policy development, strategic planning and problem solving. Monitors activities surrounding the nutrition of residents to insure needs are being met. Monitors progress on survey compliance issues when deficiencies are noted.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Graduate of a 2 year Dietetic Technician or a 4 year Dietetic program, and eligible to become registered or licensed. Must be mentally alert, and able to read, write, and understand English. Must understand geriatric resident requirements and special needs. Must have planning/organizational abilities, and basic computer skills. Must have sound knowledge of all facets of the dietary department and be able to prepare and present in-service programs.
