Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide therapeutic music experiences that meet the age-related needs of patients, promoting maintenance or rehabilitation of normal growth and development and optimal adjustment of patient and family to hospitalization, illness, and disability. The Seattle Children's Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center (ABC) is located in Bothell, WA, and provides lifelong learning and recreation opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Music therapists develop and deliver innovative music-based curriculum that is instructed to participants in group classes. This position works collaboratively with classroom assistants and instructors to bring engaging and interactive classes to participants and supports in the training of the next generation of music therapy students. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in music therapy. Experience working with infants, children, adolescents and/or adults in a therapeutic setting. Experience planning and directing activities for infants, children, adolescents and/or adults with various health conditions. Required Credentials Board Certified in Music Therapy (MT-BC) or the ability to become Board Certified within 18 months of employment. Preferred Master’s degree in Music Therapy. Board Certified in Music Therapy. Compensation Range $31.28 - $46.93 per hour Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
