Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets and Trade Surveillance to join our team. This role will focus on leading business analysis efforts for large-scale trading and risk management system implementation projects, particularly in investment banking. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of core banking systems, front office trading systems, middle office functions, and regulatory compliance, particularly within the context of Federal Reserve (US) and PRA (UK) mandates.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering:

Lead business analysis efforts for trade surveillance, capital markets, and risk management system implementation projects.

Gather and document detailed business requirements, ensuring alignment with both internal stakeholders and regulatory requirements.

Analyze existing systems and workflows to identify gaps and provide recommendations for improvements.

Project Leadership & Implementation:

Serve as a stream lead for large-scale trading system implementation projects within investment banks.

Work closely with project managers, developers, and technical teams to drive timely delivery of system features.

Conduct POCs (Proof of Concepts), risk analysis, gap analysis, and requirement traceability for major system upgrades and new implementations.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:

Lead regulatory and compliance projects mandated by Federal Reserve (US), PRA (UK), and other global financial regulators.

Ensure that systems and processes comply with all relevant regulations, including those related to trade surveillance, risk management, and transaction reporting.

System Analysis & Re-engineering:

Perform system re-engineering by evaluating existing IT infrastructure and proposing improvements.

Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of third-party products in Capital Markets, particularly in transactional and commercial banking systems.

Evaluate and implement recognized third-party products such as Thought Machine, Global Liquidity Engine (GLE), Temenos T24 (Cash Management), and MUREX.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:

Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and communicate project progress.

Prepare and present detailed reports, including project status, risk assessments, and business impacts.

SQL Querying & Data Analysis:

Write complex SQL queries with filtering logic, applying different SQL operators and table joins to extract and analyze data from various databases.

Collaborate with data teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy in reporting.

Required Qualifications:

Experience:
  • 9+ years of strong experience in Capital Markets and Trade Surveillance, particularly in investment banking environments.
  • Proven track record of working in core banking systems, front office trading systems, and middle office roles across multi-asset classes.
  • Extensive experience leading business analysis and stream lead responsibilities on large-scale trading and risk management system implementations.
  • Experience with regulatory & compliance projects, particularly those mandated by the Federal Reserve (US) and PRA (UK).
Technical & Functional Expertise:
  • Strong experience in re-engineering IT infrastructure, conducting POC (Proof of Concept), performing risk analysis, gap analysis, and ensuring requirement traceability.
  • Experience with recognized third-party products in Capital Markets, including Thought Machine, Global Liquidity Engine (GLE), Temenos T24, and MUREX.
  • Proficiency in SQL querying, with experience in filtering logic, SQL operators, and table joins to extract data from relational databases.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong project management, business analysis, and finance change management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a deep understanding of trade surveillance and capital markets operations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications & Training:

Relevant certifications in Capital Markets or Risk Management (e.g., CFA, FRM) are a plus.

Additional certifications or training in Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Master (CSM)) would be beneficial.

Technologies:

Familiarity with modern trade surveillance tools and technologies.

Experience working with financial platforms and trading systems that align with the regulatory requirements for global financial markets.
