Overview

This role provides specialized technical knowledge and documentation to aid in the creation, improvement, and upkeep of company systems. The Systems Analyst evaluates system requirements, defines data flows, and sets up processes to enhance functionality. This position requires a keen eye for technical details, the ability to work with various teams, and a knack for solving complex issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering: Compiles and records requirements for development tasks.
  • Collaboration: Leads team sessions to collect and define system requirements.
  • Requirement Translation: Interprets business needs into system functionality, ensuring they align with performance goals.
  • Documentation: Creates and maintains documentation for system design, workflows, and integrations.
  • Expert Guidance: Provides expertise on application, system, or database solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Anticipates potential application or system issues, offering solutions to mitigate them.
  • Business Advocacy: Champions the most impactful needs and contributes to ROI assessments.
  • Standard Practices: Adheres to established processes and standards.

Support & Quality Assurance

  • Issue Resolution: Investigates and resolves escalated issues affecting end-users, prioritizing based on business impact.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identifies root causes of technical problems, providing temporary fixes when necessary.
  • Communication: Translates technical issues for non-technical users and keeps stakeholders informed.
  • Performance Monitoring: Summarizes system performance details for project and business managers.
  • After-Hours Support: Participates in on-call rotations for critical issues affecting business operations.

Continuous Improvement & Development

  • Process Improvement: Engages in internal projects to refine processes, guidelines, and metrics for the Systems Analysis team.
  • Mentorship: Offers technical guidance to less experienced team members and advises other teams on technology solutions.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Works closely with internal and external teams to align with IT strategies and support execution.
  • Industry Awareness: Stays updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related experience.
  • Experience: At least five years as a Systems Analyst. Proficiency with SQL and understanding of business operations and IT practices.
  • Project Experience: Familiarity with Agile project environments.
