A Brief Overview
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Allergy Department is seeking a Registered Nurse with strong assessment skills, has the ability to multitask, has knowledge of allergic conditions, time management skills, and is highly organized. The responsibilities of the Allergy Nurse will be to provide direct patient care and implement procedures such as skin testing, PFT, and FeNO testing, IM and Sub-q injections and administer medications. The Allergy Nurse will also provide education to patients and their families by reviewing information with return demonstration, and answer questions during patient visits. Allergy Nurses care for patients with the following conditions:
- Food Allergies
- Asthma
- Allergic Rhinitis
- Atopic Dermatitis/Eczema
- Urticaria
- Eosinophilic Esophagitis
The Allergy Clinic's operational hours are 7am-7pm Monday-Friday and will be offering future Saturday hours between 7am-4pm. The shift will be dependent upon operational need. This position will rotate to Brandywine, King of Prussia and Exton Specialty Care Center(s)
A clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family centered nursing. Provides safe nursing care to the general division population with minimal guidance, and bases practice on identified principles and standards of care. Responsible for day-to-day patient care, assessment and treatment in an outpatient office and comply with the administrative policies and clinical protocols as outlined in policy and procedure manual. Administratively responsible to the Site Manager and Ambulatory Nursing Director for nursing practice issues.
