Job Summary:

MLR Healthcare is searching for a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a leading hospital in Illinois. In this position, you will conduct nuclear medicine procedures under the direction of a radiologist while independently managing technical aspects. You will follow ALARA principles and regulatory standards to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to capture images.
  • Position patients properly and ensure their comfort during procedures.
  • Follow protocols to produce high-quality images and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond to any adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection standards.
  • Conduct quality control tests on equipment and manage the inventory of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Educate patients and their families about procedures and address any concerns.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a formal Nuclear Medicine program with an associated certificate or degree.
  • One year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
  • IEMA License in Nuclear Medicine.
  • ARRT(NM) or NMTCB registry required.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
