Job Summary: MLee Healthcare is seeking a skilled and passionate Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a growing and dynamic hospital in Illinois. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist conducts nuclear medicine procedures under the guidance of a radiologist, operating independently without constant supervision of technical details. They adhere to ALARA principles and all regulatory requirements to ensure safe and appropriate patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to obtain images.
  • Position patients correctly and ensure patient comfort during procedures.
  • Follow protocols to obtain high-quality images and maintain patient records.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures and address any adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection measures.
  • Perform quality control tests on equipment and maintain inventory of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Educate patients and families about procedures and address any concerns.
  • Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology.
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards, including patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a formal Nuclear Medicine program with associated certificate or degree.
  • One (1) year Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
  • IEMA License in Nuclear Medicine.
  • ARRT(NM) or NMTCB registry required
  • Maintains Basic Life support certification.
