Job Summary: MLee Healthcare is seeking a skilled and passionate Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a growing and dynamic hospital in Illinois. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist conducts nuclear medicine procedures under the guidance of a radiologist, operating independently without constant supervision of technical details. They adhere to ALARA principles and all regulatory requirements to ensure safe and appropriate patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to obtain images.
- Position patients correctly and ensure patient comfort during procedures.
- Follow protocols to obtain high-quality images and maintain patient records.
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures and address any adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection measures.
- Perform quality control tests on equipment and maintain inventory of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Educate patients and families about procedures and address any concerns.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards, including patient confidentiality.
- Completion of a formal Nuclear Medicine program with associated certificate or degree.
- One (1) year Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
- IEMA License in Nuclear Medicine.
- ARRT(NM) or NMTCB registry required
- Maintains Basic Life support certification.
