About This Paramedic Position

HopeHealth is seeking RI and MA licensed Paramedics to support HopeHealth Hospice’s Response Team. The Paramedics will be dispatched to patient’s homes after the Triage RN determines that a visit is necessary to assist and support the patient and family. The Paramedic will utilize technology so that the Triage RN virtually triages and provides instructions to the patient and family.

This is a part time night position with the hours of 11:00pm-7:30am that is eligible for benefits.

What will the Paramedic do?
  • Will travel to the patient’s home, join the Triage RN virtually in the visit, take patient’s vital signs, assist patient and family as instructed by the Triage RN with regard to moving the patient, repositioning the patient, secure wound dressings, identifying the medications in the patient’s home for the Triage RN to provide direction, utilization and dosing instructions to the patient and family.
  • Patients may be symptomatic with pain, nausea, agitation. The Paramedic will provide a calming presence for the patient and family and support the patient and family in following the Triage RN’s instructions.
  • Completes patient documentation (written /electronic) per HopeHealth . This documentation shall be completed at the time of the visit or by end of shift.
  • Reports to remote location(s) for duty. Responds to calls and directions from HopeHealth’s Triage RN.
What are the qualifications for a Paramedic?
  • Current State of Rhode Island and Massachusetts Paramedic license with a minimum of two years’ field Paramedic experience.
  • Maintains certifications as mandated by the position
  • Valid and current driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to read speak and write legibly and comprehend the English language without restriction.
  • Maintains positive communication (written, spoken and non-verbal) effectively while interfacing with fellow employees, patients, families, and the community at large.
