Director of Respiratory Therapy

McGuire Memorial is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Director of Respiratory Therapy to build,

lead and manage our Respiratory Therapy Department. Must have a strong clinical background,

excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care that is aligned with

McGuire Memorial’s Mission.

Employment Type: Full-time – 40hrs/week

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department, ensuring compliance with all

regulatory standards, McGuire Memorial policies and best practices.

Develop and implement department policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance respiratory care and

departmental efficiency.

Manage and supervise a team of respiratory therapists, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, families and an internal interdisciplinary team to develop and

implement individual care plans.

Monitor and manage departmental budgets, including staffing, equipment, and supplies.

Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all respiratory therapy equipment and work collaboratively

with the DME supplier.

Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Stay current with advances in respiratory therapy and incorporate new techniques into practices.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred.

Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, preferably with individuals with

intellectual and developmental disabilities.

At least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, standards, and regulations.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

Experience with computers and electronic health records.
