Position Information Position Title Principal Clerk - Bookkeeper Temp FLSA Non-Exempt Primary Responsibilities Position Summary This position maintains bookkeeping records for the Bookstore as well as provides routine retail duties including customer service, assistance, training and support for student employees. Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining journals and ledgers on a daily basis, to be utilized for monthly reports, reconciling invoices with purchase orders, processing accounts payable and credit memos, and handling vendor statements and aging credits. The role involves maintaining financial records, managing ledgers, prepayments. Additional duties include cash reconciliation, transaction audits, resolving discrepancies, and coordinating with the finance office. The position also covers credit card sales, overdue accounts, financial reporting, safe auditing, placing orders as needed. Closing the store on a scheduled basis and as needed. Other duties as assigned. Schedule: 37.5 hours/week. Some Saturdays and evening hours required. Open and close as required. Minimum Qualifications Position requirements: o A high school diploma and 2+ years of recent accounting experience or equivalent formal training. o At least 2 years in a customer service focused position o Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed o A proven track record of providing the highest level of customer service o Intermediate technical knowledge required including Microsoft Excel Preferred Qualifications Retail or hospitality/customer service experience preferred. Salary Up to $18.00/hr. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
