POSITION SUMMARY

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse is responsible for organizing, planning, and providing high-quality patient care in the Cardiac Cath lab/Interventional Radiology setting. This role requires a focus on nursing assessment, patient care planning, and management, as well as effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team. The Nurse must also demonstrate the ability to provide age-specific care and maintain a safe environment for patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use nursing process as a problem-solving model, anticipating and planning to meet patient and family needs
  • Provide care appropriate to the age and needs of the patients served
  • Communicate effectively using the SBAR in all hand-off situations
  • Manage and manipulate the physical environment to promote safety
  • Assist with a variety of cardiac and interventional radiology procedures
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and document outcomes
  • Participate in the unit-specific Quality and Performance Improvement Plan

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Minimum two (2) years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
  • Current California Registered Nursing license
  • BCLS and ACLS certification required
  • Managing Aggressive Behavior (MAB) certification within 90 days of hire
  • Adult moderate sedation class required within 30 days of hire and maintained every 2 years
  • Basic computer skills
