The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Director of Infectious Disease Nursing within the Office of Nursing. This position provides state-wide leadership and technical assistance regarding nursing practice provided by Public Health RNs and APRNS in the areas of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD), including the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and Tuberculosis (TB) care settings. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates the development, review, and maintenance of Nurse Protocols for STD, TB, and HIV program services used by RNs and APRNs in public health settings. Coordinates public health nurse training for the areas of STD, TB, and HIV, ensuring alignment with Nurse Protocols. Serves as a liaison to the Nurse Protocol Committee and Clinical Review Teams. Responsible for implementing a statewide workgroup to support and expand the provision of HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in public health districts. Works with Public Health Districts and DPH programs to increase collaboration across programs and service delivery. Provides clinical support and QA/QI guidance for the Ryan White Part B Program. Leads prevention initiatives aimed at decreasing the incidence of HIV and STD infections including prevention of congenital syphilis and perinatal HIV transmission. Serves as a liaison to professional associations and medical societies to increase collaboration with infectious disease prevention initiatives. Responds to public health emergencies, as needed. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Minimum Qualifications Doctorate or Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health or related field from an accredited college or university AND Eight years of professional nursing management/supervisory experience AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure. Completion of a masters degree in nursing, Public Health, or related area. Experience providing care in HIV and/or STD clinic settings. Experience in public health nursing.
