Field Engineer

Your Impact at SAM The Field Engineer reports to the Project Engineer or the Project Manager and serves as primary point of contract for construction contractor and client field representatives managing contract administration and construction engineering and inspection (CEI) operations of highway and/or bridge construction projects per DOT contract documents, procedures, specifications and manuals. The Field Engineer provides recommendations to client regarding work progress and payment and provides oversight and review of SiteManager activities to ensure compliance with contract. This role requires contact with client, typically a governmental agency and private entities including construction contractors. Review, and interpret plans, specifications, and other construction documents for clarity, completeness, construction sequence and constructability Foster continuous coordination between all stakeholders Assist the CEI Project Manager in organizing and conducting the pre-construction meetings Coordinate with Project Manager to monitor CEI budget. Take corrective action as required to manage both staffing and schedule Monitor and track construction activities and progress Track construction, including material on hand.
