Job Description Summary:
We are a general medical floor. We see patients with a wide variety of ailments including altered mental status, pancreatitis, gastrointestinal bleed, atrial fibrillation, urinary tract infections, and many others. We are a 24-bed closed unit. 20 of those patients are seen by our COPC hospitalist group. The same group of physicians always round on our unit and they switch out each week, which helps with continuity with the patients. The other 4 patients are our Long-Stay patients. These patients are deemed to have a long hospital stay for different reasons, but more commonly related to disposition issues.
This position provides general nursing care to patients and families along the health illness continuum in diverse health care settings while collaborating with the health care team. He/She is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
