Portable X-Ray Technologist

As a portable x-ray technologist, you will travel to various locations to perform diagnostic imaging procedures in support of disease and injury diagnosis and treatment. In addition to conducting exams, you will also be responsible for maintaining patient care, customer service, image quality, operational efficiency, and training other x-ray technologists.

  • Travel to different settings to perform portable x-rays and EKG exams
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures during diagnostic imaging exams
  • Collect and verify required documentation and patient information prior to procedures
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging exams
  • Operate portable radiologic equipment at designated settings
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient characteristics
  • Demonstrate safe work practices in various aspects of the job
  • Process and review images for diagnostic quality
  • Transmit images and documentation in a timely manner according to protocols
  • Complete all required forms, logs, and reports
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment; assist with troubleshooting
  • Ensure the vehicle is well stocked with necessary supplies and maintain good care of the vehicle
  • Follow all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct training and orientation of other employees upon request
  • Assist with administrative and customer support functions as directed
  • Exhibit professionalism, courtesy, and a positive attitude in all interactions
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to the company's mission, values, and ethics
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Communicate positively and professionally with everyone
  • Perform work safely and demonstrate proficiency in using company technology

Requirements:

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist RT (R) or possess a Limited Scope X-Ray Operator certification in compliance with state-specific requirements, or hold a state x-ray license
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and a good driving record
  • Ability to move or lift equipment up to 50 pounds and walk up and down stairs while carrying equipment
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends
