Job Title: CT Technologist

Location: Peoria, IL

Schedule: Mon-Fri with EOW (8x5) (3x12)

Shift: Day/ Evening / Night

Job Summary:

The CT and Diagnostic Radiology Technologist performs routine and specialized examinations in CT and diagnostic radiology. This role involves adapting procedures to achieve specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results, preparing patients for examinations, and utilizing independent judgment under the direction of a radiologist.

Clinical Excellence:

Procedure Execution: Perform CT and radiographic procedures accurately and completely, adhering to guidelines, policies, and standards.

Patient Care: Adapt procedures based on patient conditions and radiologist requests, ensuring quality care for patients of all ages.

Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrate competency in operating and filming CT and radiographic equipment.

Pre and Post-Procedure Documentation: Obtain and document accurate information before and after procedures.

Safety Compliance: Follow JCAHO patient safety goals and maintain quality care throughout all procedures.

Lab Specimen Handling: Obtain lab specimens, perform bedside testing, and ensure compliance with medical orders and hospital policies.

Quality Improvement:

Maintain and troubleshoot CT and diagnostic equipment, ensuring safety and proper operation.

Perform support functions to meet patient expectations, including equipment checks, inventory management, and patient flow coordination.

Promptly process images and paperwork, ensuring timely report delivery to physicians.

Keep the work area clean, stock supplies, and verify accessories.

Departmental Support

Train and guide fellow technologists and students, promoting efficient and cost-effective care.

Foster a respectful and productive learning environment by displaying a professional demeanor.

Conserve resources and prevent waste, including performing additional tasks such as cassette cleaning and apron testing during slow periods.

Required Skills & Experience:

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year as a CT Tech.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CT and radiographic procedures, equipment operation, and patient care.

Basic reading, writing, and oral English skills; ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality.

Patient-centered approach with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.

Ability to make independent decisions and respond appropriately to various situations.
