Make a difference as a Custodian

As a Full-Time Custodian at the City of Pharr, your key responsibilities will include maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities. You will ensure pristine building floors through sweeping, mopping, buffing, and vacuuming, while also servicing, cleaning, and stocking restrooms. You'll play a vital role in waste management by gathering and disposing of interior and exterior trash, contributing to a tidy environment. Additionally, you'll conduct minor repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, ensuring our facilities run smoothly. Your expertise will also shine through in floor maintenance tasks such as stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing, as well as steam-cleaning or shampooing carpets, keeping our spaces welcoming for all.

• Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to cleaning equipment with enough physical strength and agility to perform a variety of moderate heavy custodial tasks in the care and limited maintenance of building, landscaping and equipment.
