The Human Resources Information Systems Analyst (HRIS Analyst) is responsible for the support and maintenance of the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) in addition to other systems supported by Human Resources. This individual serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HRIS Analyst also supports HRMS upgrades, patches, testing, time clock support and replacement, data transmission to and from third party vendors, and other technical projects as assigned. This position is also responsible for developing, administering, and presenting Human Resources Management Systems training.

  • Maintains data integrity of the Human Resources systems by conducting audits, ensuring accurate and timely data and payments. Works with the Benefits and Accounting Departments to ensure payroll deductions are properly applied.
  • Assists with process review, process improvement, process automation, and system implementation within the Human Resources Division; including assisting with technology matters within other divisions that involve human resource work.
  • Manages employee records as applicable, updating and correcting when necessary, to ensures data is and records are properly updated.
  • Maintains existing programs by troubleshooting, testing, and debugging; including purchased software, as well as custom coded software. Works with vendors to identify and install programs and operating software fixes and enhancements.
  • Analyzes assigned problems and determines appropriate corrective procedures. Makes decisions for changes to systems based on business needs within Human Resources and in areas within the organization.
  • Provides ongoing technical support and system administration tasks for systems; including administering reports and system interfaces, creating and preparing test scripts, and managing all applicable system testing.
  • Assists the Manager HR Systems and Time Management in managing cross-functional projects with other areas of Human Resources, as well as other departments in the Company as needed.
  • Schedules and conducts meetings to solve problems or implement project plans.
  • Works with users, professional consultants, external customers, vendors, and other departmental personnel to discuss and develop project solutions.
  • Assists with planning, organizing, and managing all activities related to the maintenance and operation of Human Resources systems. Tests all system changes.
  • Provides project oversight from design through implementation. Identifies, tracks, monitors, and communicates on project-related issues, scope changes, variances, and contingencies that occur during the course of projects. Monitors project work to ensure that progress is maintained within expected guidelines and is completed in a timely manner.
  • Assists the Manager HR Systems and Time Management as liaison between AMERICAN and HRMS vendors to resolve issues, deliver new functionalities, apply updates, and facilitate communication for other AMERICAN subsidiaries.
  • Supports wage payroll through the timekeeping function to ensure timely and accurate processing and payment.
  • Assists Human Resources with implementing new software. Ensures proper procedures are put in place for efficiency and confidentiality. Monitors system updates and enhancements.
  • Assists with developing data exports from systems used within Human Resources for data imports into various software utilized at AMERICAN and our subsidiaries, which include appropriately formatting import files, and developing and running queries to verify the information, and fixing any formatting issues that may prevent an import file from being uploaded.
  • Develops, administers, and presents HRMS training to the Company's workforce. Coordinates with Talent Acquisition & Development to administer HRMS training.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly. Knows safety rules that apply to the safety of others and to personal safety. Reports malfunction of equipment to proper authority. Performs other work as instructed by supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must exhibit a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Human Resources or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university. Proof of degree required. A transcript or diploma would be acceptable and must be provided.
  2. Must exhibit two or more years work experience supporting or implementing a Human Resources Management System (HRMS), such as UKG, Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, PeopleSoft, etc.
  3. Must exhibit the ability to understand Human Resources policies and procedures, and processes and data.
  4. Must exhibit an understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with database tools.
  5. Must exhibit an ability to learn, weight will be given to related experience and coursework (i.e., computer courses, course grades, work experience, etc.).
  6. Must exhibit good oral and written communication skills (i.e., good command of grammar and spelling).
  7. Must exhibit good interpersonal skills and the ability to cooperate well with others.
  8. Must exhibit record of punctuality and good attendance.
  9. Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  10. Must exhibit the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job duties.
  11. Must exhibit the ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality.
  12. Must exhibit advanced knowledge in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, such as Word, Excel, and Access.
  13. Must be willing and able to work extra hours on weekdays, weekends, or holidays as required to fulfill job duties.
  14. Must exhibit the ability to work independently and under stress.
  15. Must exhibit the ability to manage multiple tasks with numerous interruptions and meet deadlines under dynamic work schedules.
  16. Must exhibit good attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  17. Must exhibit the ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
  18. Must exhibit the ability to provide effective presentations to both small and large groups.
  19. Due to the hazardous nature of the job environment (mobile equipment, overhead cranes, etc.), an acceptable level of vision and hearing is required in order to identify and respond to visual and audible warnings in a safe manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Exhibit four or more years of training and/or work experience in Computer Science or related Information Systems work.
  2. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of client server and web development technologies including working knowledge of development tools (XML, HTML, FTP, SQL, etc.).
  3. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in application design, develop, and test methodologies.
  4. Prior work experience within a Human Resources Department.
  5. Exhibit the ability to understand timekeeping policies, procedures, processes, and data as they relate to employee pay.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Overhead reach required to obtain mail from six-foot mail bins, computer printouts, etc.
  • Forward reach required to perform desk activities, use keyboard, phone, cabinets, etc.
  • Bended reach required to access file drawers, supply cabinets, etc.
  • Handling required for phone, binders, stacks of paper, etc.
  • Use of fingers required to use of keyboard, phone, etc. and for writing, etc.
  • Talking required for phone use and person-to-person conversation.
  • Vision required to use computer, read instructions, safety within the plant, driving, etc.
  • Hearing required for safety within the plant and for communication with co-workers.
  • Lifting and carrying required for printouts, manuals, binders, etc. up to 10 pounds.
  • Pushing and pulling required to access files in file drawers.
