Job Summary: Air Ambulance Nurses provide direct patient care in accordance with company protocols and/or medical direction. They also assist with coverage of open shifts as needed within the assigned area.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within specified timeframe
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility
  • Maintain competency in knowledge and skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
  • Maintain required licensure, certifications, and continuing education
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings when needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in an emergency or critical care setting
  • Current RN licensure required
  • EMT Certification required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status
  • Advanced Certification (CEN, CCRN, CFRN) preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens or airborne particles
  • Frequently exposed to vibrations/turbulence
  • Lift and/or move up to 150 pounds cumulative with assistance
