Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist Location: United States-Michigan-Cadillac Job Number: 16237 SUMMARY: Provide comprehensive Human Resources support to business unit in all areas of HR. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and administer training for managers and employees on HR programs (i.e. conducting performance reviews, talent acquisition process, etc.) Support business development team and operations team in identifying appropriate job titles, descriptions, pay grades and salaries for bids and programs. Work with managers on organizational changes. Identify process improvements. Conduct full scale recruiting for the business unit. Prepare reports and data for HR metrics, trends, and government reporting. Investigate employee relations complaints. Address employee questions and concerns on all aspects of HR (comp, benefits, career development, etc.). Prepare employee separation notices and required documentation, conduct exit interviews, prepare and analyze turnover data. All other duties as assigned. Strong customer orientation. #LI-EF1 Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: B.S./B.A. degree and four years of Human Resource experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PREFERRED: Human Resources PHR or SHRM-CP certification. Master's degree in Human Resource Management and two (2) years of experience in the HR field or any similar combination of education and experience. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of two (4) years-experience in HR role. Union experience preferred, not required. Strong understanding of HR Best Practices, policies and procedures utilized in one or more of the following areas: recruitment, selection, job descriptions/evaluation and classification, employee/labor relations, compensation (salary structures) policies/procedure, salary administration and HR metrics. Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Working knowledge of principles of Affirmative Action/Equal Employment opportunity, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, Sarbanes Oxley, ADA and FLSA. Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Practical experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking systems, preferably EV5 and Taleo, respectively. Superior customer service standards with the ability to project a cooperative and professional demeanor when working with a wide range of individuals. Ability to work in a team-oriented, continuous improvement and customer-centric environment, and is able to quickly adapt to new procedures. Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness when interacting with difficult people/situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to employee records, system data and other sensitive employee related information. Must be detail-oriented while being able to multi-task in a fast paced work environment. Strong communication and presentation skills.
