As MISO's Real-Time Applications Product Owner, you will actively seek creative, innovative solutions to improve MISO's monitoring and alerting applications used by our operators by facilitating a collaborative environment where developers and business stakeholders trust and efficiently work together to build valuable products. You'll provide guidance in assessing product opportunities and risks. You'll identify the root causes of problems and bring meaningful solutions to the table. Set plans for the teams each quarter and manage backlogs to streamline the execution of priorities.
In one year as our Product Owner, you will know you were successful if:
- You've built positive relationships through collaboration with product managers and other business leaders to prioritize the sequence of the backlog for the software development team.
- Business value and requirements are aligned with subject matter professionals and communicated clearly resulting in smooth Agile ceremonies and minimize rework from software developers.
- The software development team demonstrates the ability to timely estimate and continuously deliver efforts requested by the business.
- You have demonstrated your understanding the how your software applications provide value to MISO and have started contributing to the vision and roadmap.
We are looking for hardworking professionals who:
- Understand and are regularly involved in the development pipeline maturation process.
- Have facilitated an environment where developers and business partners trust and efficiently work together.
- Are familiar working with Agile software development methodologies (e.g. SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, and/or XP)
- Have a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience.
- Preferably has experience with data visualization and/or alerting software applications
- Preferably has familiarity with the energy industry or other regulation/compliance driven industry
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
