Clean Energy Innovation Strategy Consultant

Key Role:

Support energy sector clients focused on deploying innovative technologies in the market. Support clean energy technology scouting activities, including market engagement, research, and analysis. Assist innovation and research and development-focused clients in designing programs and creating technology performance and cost targets to guide investments in clean energy innovation. Analyze policy and regulatory landscapes to advise clients on the implications for clean energy technology innovation and deployment pathways. Identify programmatic and technical risks and collaborate with clients to develop proactive mitigation strategies. Contribute to internal business development activities to expand Booz Allen's presence in the clean energy market, including proposal writing, white paper development, and representing the company at industry conferences and events. Develop and maintain relationships with the clean energy ecosystem including technology providers, research institutions, and other industry stakeholders to foster collaboration and drive the adoption of innovative solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with industry or energy sector consulting
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience performing market research, data analysis, and creating compelling data visualizations
  • Experience with the energy sector including grid modernization, building decarbonization, energy storage, firm carbon-free electricity generation, industrial decarbonization, transportation electrification, and low-carbon fuels
  • Experience working in the energy technology innovation space, including through non-dilutive government funding programs, private sector R&D, or academia
  • Experience managing projects including, but not limited to, technical/engineering management, financial management, procurement, and quality control
  • Ability to quickly absorb technical subject matter and work independently to incorporate content into work products
  • Ability to manage timelines, prioritize varying and conflicting client inputs, and build consensus through collaboration and influence rather than formal authority
  • Ability to independently engage internal subject matter experts across science and engineering disciplines to answer client research questions and craft recommendations
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including crafting and presenting executive level briefings
  • Possession of excellent analytical skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative analytical field preferred; Master's degree in Business Administration or a science or engineering field a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
